Big New Year for 'Thala' fans...Ajith wins a national honor! Check who else got the awards

In a relishing New Year opening for Ajith fans, reputed Kollywood star Ajith has been conferred with the national honor for his versatile acting. He has been bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Awards and along with Ajith, Tamil actors like Dhanush and Jyothika have also been honored with the prestigious national award. 

The award foundation had unveiled the list of winners of the award in South India on the occasion of New Year. The South India version of the award would land in the hands of talents and finest actors contributing to the four film industries of South India - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The foundation has picked some of the best pictures and actors of 2019 from these four arenas and conferred them with prestigious awards.

The winners were announced on the occasion of New Year and in the Kollywood arena, Dhanush has got the award of the Best Actor for his splendid acting in 'Asuran' while Jyothika has been conferred with the award of Best Actress for her acting in 'Raatchasi'. Thala Ajith has won the award of the Most Versatile Actor in Tamil for the year 2020. 

Under the category of Best Tamil film, 'To Let', directed by Chezian, has won the honor and Parthiban has been conferred with the award of Best Director for making the unique picture 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7' while Anirudh Ravichander has been named as the Best Music director. On the Malayalam arena, Suraj Venjaramoodu has been awarded as the Best Actor for 'Android Kunjappan ver 5.25' and Parvathy Thiruvothu has been conferred with the honor of Best Actress for her acting in 'Uyare'. 

While Mohanlal has been named as the Most Versatile Actor in Malayalam in 2020, Madhu C Narayanan has been awarded as Best Director for directing 'Kumbalangi Nights'. While 'Uyare' was picked as the Best Malayalam movie, Deepak Dev has been conferred with the award of Best Music director.  

In Sandalwood, Shivrajkumar has been bestowed with the award of Most Versatile actor and Rakshit Shetty has been awarded the honor of Best Actor for acting in 'Avane Srimannarayana' while Tanya Hope has bagged the award of Best Actress for 'Yajamana'. 'Mookajjiya Kanasugalu' has been conferred with the Best Kannada movie and Ramesh Indira is picked as Best Director of Sandalwood for directing  'Premier Padmini' and V Harikrishna has been awarded the honor of Best Music Director. 

In the arena of Tollywood, Naveen Polishetty has been bestowed with the award of Best Actor for his acting in 'Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya' and Rashmika Mandanna has been awarded the honor of Best Actress for her finest acting in 'Dear Comrade'. While S Thaman has been named as the Best Music Director, Sujeet has won the award of Best Director for directing 'Saaho'. 'Jersey' has been awarded as the Best Film, legendary Nagarjuna Akkineni has been conferred with the award of Most Versatile Actor.
