With barely having one year left for the upcoming legislative elections, the top political parties in Tamil Nadu have been gripping up its electoral base to enhance the strongholds. The ruling ADMK party, which has been queued up with allegations and controversies, is striving for another five-year term in the assembly amid the oppositions and its typical for Tamil Nadu to witness the money game during the course of the elections.
The ADMK party is at the final stage of dotting up its election strategy by weighing the urban local body polls and legislative polls. The urban body polls would be rolled out this year and it would write the preface of how strong is the ruling party among the people and the local body polls would largely impact the state legislative elections. With the view of that, our sources say that the ADMK has calculated that the party would need Rs 3000 crore for the local body and legislative polls.
In the party's election strategy, the ADMK's leadership has crafted the plan to divide the state into six electoral zones and each zone will be assigned for six senior party leaders and they would be in charge of their respective zones to ensure that the party gathers majority votes during the elections. The six leaders are Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister Panneerselvam, Velumani, Vijayabaskar, Vaidhyalingam, and Thangamani. Our sources stated that each zone would be mapped with 40 legislative constituencies each. The party has formulated the strategies that the top two leaders who secure more seats would be named as Deputy Chief Ministers and the posts will be established accordingly.
The leaders who occupy the next two spots would be given the important and powerful portfolios in the cabinet ministry. It was speculated that Edappadi Palaniswami would remain as the Chief Ministerial candidate and the sources reveal that these strategies are taken by the party leaders against the BJP. The sources say that Panneerselvam has been frustrated against Edappadi Palaniswami for showing disgrace and the developments picture the possibilities that Panneerselvam will, for yet another time, revolt the party into two camps along with his supporters.
At the time of elections, there are possibilities that Pannerselvam can ally with Rajini, PMK, and with some of the parties that are against DMK. However, the Tamil Nadu BJP claimed that despite the strategies and alliance, the ADMK will always function according to the directions from the Central BJP.
