Actor Vadivelu has been battling the Covid-19 pandemic for the past few days and is currently been hospitalized in Chennai. The reputed comedian has confirmed to have contracted the viral infection upon his arrival from London. He had gone to the British capital for the shooting of his upcoming movie. The development has prompted the movie crew to go under isolation and get tested.
Vadivelu has been getting treated at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Porur, Chennai and amid the prayers from the fans for his speedy recovery, the hospital has poured relief for them by affirming that the actor is recovering well. Dr Suhas Prabhakar, the Medical Director of the hospital, has on Monday - December 27 issued a statement concerning Vadivelu's health condition and when he will be discharged.
In an official statement, the hospital has said, "Mr Vadivelu was admitted on 23.12.2021 with positive report for Covid in Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, he is recovering well with treatment and is stable. He is likely to be discharged soon." The 61-year-old actor has undergone Covid testing in Chennai after returning from London and the result had returned positive. Vadivelu has flown to London after several years for the shooting of what has been predicted as his comeback movie.
After the end of the troubling chapter, Vadivelu has signed to act as a lead in the movie 'Naai Sekar Returns' directed by Suraaj. The shooting of the movie has begun earlier this month and the movie is bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The movie is touted to be an entertainer and Vadivelu and the crew had flown to London for shooting and the actor himself had shared the pictures from London on his official Twitter handle. He shared the picture from London on December 17 and he has tested positive for the pandemic within a week.
While Vadivelu had on last Friday tested positive for the pandemic, director Suraaj had confirmed to have contracted the viral infection on Sunday after which he was admitted to Ramachandra hospital. The back-to-back whammies had saddened the Tamil cinema fans and the shocking development of Vadivelu and Suraaj testing positive for the pandemic had prompted the entire crew members of the movie to isolate themselves. The crew members include music director Santhosh Narayanan, who also had travelled to London.
