Reputed comedy actor Vadivelu has tested positive for the Covid-19 viral infection last Friday and he has been hospitalized in Chennai. As his hospitalization has shocked the fans who have been praying for his speedy recovery, the hospital has now said that the actor is doing fine and he will be discharged in two to three days. 

The 61-year-old actor has confirmed to have contracted the global pandemic upon his arrival to Chennai from London. He had returned from the British capital on December 23 after completing the shooting for his upcoming movie. He had arrived along with the movie crew and he had undergone Covid testing in Chennai and the results had returned positive. Following the development, Vadivelu has been getting treated at the Ramachandra Hospital in Porur, Chennai for further treatments. 

Vadivelu has flown to London after several years for the shooting of what has been predicted as his comeback movie. After the end of the troubling chapter, Vadivelu has signed to act as a lead in the movie 'Naai Sekar Returns' directed by Suraaj. The shooting of the movie has begun earlier this month and the movie is bankrolled by Lyca Productions. 

The movie is touted to be an entertainer and Vadivelu and the crew had flown to London for shooting and the actor himself had shared the pictures from London on his official Twitter handle. He shared the picture from London on December 17 and he has tested positive for the pandemic within a week. The development has come when India and several countries have been battling against the Omicron variant and the United Kingdom is one of the most-affected countries by the new variant. 

While Vadivelu had on Friday tested positive for the pandemic, director Suraaj had confirmed to have contracted the viral infection on Sunday after which he was admitted to Ramachandra hospital. The back-to-back whammies had saddened the Tamil cinema fans and the shocking development of Vadivelu and Suraaj testing positive for the pandemic had prompted the entire crew members of the movie to isolate themselves. The crew members include music director Santhosh Narayanan, who also had travelled to London. 

The reports say that Vadivelu has been fully vaccinated against the pandemic and the treating doctors have said the comedian is doing fine and stable. He will be discharged from the hospital in two to three days. Meanwhile, some reports suggested that it is yet to be known whether Vadivelu and Suraaj had contracted the Omicron variant and that it will come to the revelation after the test results.
