"Your voice should sound louder, come quickly, brother"- Kamal Haasan's brotherly wishes for SPB!

As reputed playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam is still under the life support as he has been battling against the COVID-19 viral infection, wishes and prayers have been getting poured in for the speedy recovery of the 74-year-singer who has been accoladed with the multiple recognitions and awards. 

The playback singer has been getting treated at the MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai after he tested positive for the global pandemic. On August 5, he was confirmed to have contracted to the viral infection and though he said he had mild symptoms and would be discharged in two days, his health took a wrong turn on Friday where the hospital said his condition is critical and moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and kept under the life support.

Millions across and beyond the borders have been extending their wishes and prayers to the singer for his speedy recovery since the development emerged. From national celebrities, fraternities, and fans, people whom SPB had relished and inspired through his songs and voice have been sending their prayers back to have that voice alive. On Friday, the singer's close friend Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja had sent an emotional video message praying to God for his speedy recovery. 

In line with them, Actor turned political Kamal Haasan took to Twitter on Sunday and extended his wishes to the singer for his speedy recovery. Kamal Haasan wrote, "Dear brother, We are waiting for you. We have lived for many years as you being my voice and I being your face. Your voice should sound louder. Come back and come quickly, brother". 

 

On Saturday, the treating hospital said that the singer is doing stable. In the bulletin released, the treating hospital further said the 74-year-old playback singer continues to be on life support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Amid the speculations on his health, SPB's son SPB Charan released a video message on Saturday and said that his father went critical yesterday and put on the ventilator. 

In his message, he said, "Appa is doing stable. Though we call him in a critical stage, he is cautiously getting stable. There is a very good response for the ventilator and his lungs are functioning better than Friday. Its a time-consuming process and though we are expecting a recovery, it's going to be a slow recovery". 

Charan further stated, "Your prayers are definitely helping, please keep them coming. We are very grateful for the love and affection". "Doctors are confident that they are looking at signs of improvement and they are confident that he will pull through this". he added. The hospital on Saturday said that the doctors are closely monitoring his clinical parameters. On Friday, celebrities from AR Rahman, Dhanush, Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan, Shekhar Kapoor, Harris Jayaraj, Devi Sri Prasad, and Cricketer Ashwin had extended their wishes for the singer's speedy recovery.
