When the Tamil Nadu ministers and senior leaders of ADMK had set an unusual precedent by approaching the DGP's office and file a police complaint against VK Sasikala for illegally using the ADMK's flag, they were apparently nervous to speak against Sasikala when they addressed the reporters after filing the police complaint. Senior Tamil Nadu Minister Jayakumar, who is the mouthpiece of the party, had also stumbled to start the reporting.
Capturing the nervousness and how they are deeply concerned about the arrival of VK Sasikala, senior ministers Jayakumar, Thangamani, and CV Shanmugam had refused to open the reporting and they were seen passing the bat between each other to face and answer the question from the reporters on the complaint against VK Sasikala. On Saturday, Tamil Nadu ministers Jayakumar, Thangamani, and CV Shanmugam, and ADMK's Presidium Chairman Madhusudhanan had marched towards the Office of Director-General of Police to file a police complaint against VK Sasikala.
In what has become the second complaint in two days, the ministers and senior leaders moved the complaint to urge the police to take action against Sasikala for using the ADMK flag. After filing the complaint, they had assembled to address the reporters about their second complaint. When they stood before the media, they had lost control and stumbled on who have to address the reporters, which had apparently shown how they are concerned and feared about speaking against Sasikala.
After they assembled to address the reporters, minister Thangamani was seen asking Jayakumar to speak about the complaint whereas Jayakumar faced the question and said that law minister CV Shanmugam would make the statement. Shocked to know that he had got the bat to hit against Sasikala, Shanmugam asked Thangmani to speak. Being perplexed on who would go first, Jayakumar had brought the drama to an end by asking Shanmugam to speak following which the law minister made the statement.
Though they finally made the statement, the visuals on how the ministers had stumbled before the camera have been rampantly getting spread across social media. During addressing the reporters, Shanmugam said that Sasikala and Dhinakaran are a threat to law and order and claimed that they are attempting to disrupt the peace.
The minister said that the ADMK supporters would turn into human bombs against Sasikala. While the first-of-its-kind complaint had shown that the current leaders are trying to keep the party away from the power of Sasikala, their nervousness of making the statement against Sasikala was strong evidence of how they are reluctant to go against Sasikala.
The reports say that being aggressive to attack Sasikala directly would push her to trigger the political drift within the party, which would eventually break into pieces, ahead of the elections. The ADMK leaders are unfolding the political drama to keep control of the party while going less aggressive against Sasikala. The political observers say that the vote bank is also one of the important reasons why the leaders have now made up the mind not to attack her staunchly.
They state that the display of reluctance from attacking Sasikala was due to the vote bank in Southern Tamil Nadu, which predominantly has the Thevar community. Sasikala belongs to this community and if the ministers aggressively attack her, they fear that they would lose the vote bank, which has always been pivotal for the ADMK during the elections. On the other hand, some of the leaders had made their minds that Sasikala would emerge as a power center if DMK wins the assembly polls and they aren't ready to become a foe of Sasikala which would adversely impact their politics.
