You must know: Five major announcements from MK Stalin as he celebrates his first year in office!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has on Saturday - May 7 celebrated his first year anniversary in his reign by unveiling crucial announcements. On this day last year, MK Stalin was sworn in as the Chief Minister for the first after ousting the ADMK regime. Amid being flooded with the wishes from the allied and opposition leaders, he had turned heads through these announcements that mainly go to enhance education and health care. 

MK Stalin has successfully sailed across the waves of issues from the Covid pandemic to the dispute with the Governor and to be a remarkable voice against the BJP from the south. While his term in office has miles to go, the cadres and leaders of the DMK celebrate the first year anniversary and proclaim that Stalin's achievements would lubricate the administration to run much stronger.  

Addressing the assembly after accepting the wishes of the various party leaders, MK Stalin has unveiled five major schemes, including providing breakfast for students of the government schools. While addressing the assembly, he said, "Free breakfast will be given to 1st and 5th standard government school students daily. This scheme will be initiated in a few corporations and remote villages. 

The following are the five major announcements that MK Stalin made: 

  • Students from Classes 1st to 5th will be provided with a nutritious breakfast on all working days. 
  • New nutrition and medical examination scheme will be launched for kids below six years to subdue the prevailing nutrition deficiency among this age group. 
  • Establishing schools of excellence in the footsteps of Delhi. 
  • More urban medical facilities would be established to provide and effectively cater to the people's medical needs. In the first phase, 708 such urban health centres will be installed in 21 corporations and 63 municipalities and will be extended gradually. 
  • Ungal Thogudhiyil Mudalamaichar scheme will be expanded for all the 234 constituencies. For the current financial year, Rs 1,000 crore would be allotted. The scheme will be under the direct control of the Chief Minister. 

 

Before arriving at the assembly, MK Stalin had boarded a city bus and interacted with the people. The visuals of his journey have gone viral and he also paid floral tributes at the memorials of the late DMK founder CN Annadurai and the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK stalwart M Karunanidhi. He also thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for their support for his administration and after the assembly session, he had released a one-year achievement book and magazine.
