Afghanistan: A woman lost her sight, only because she went to a job over her family's constraints.
A woman with a dream of becoming a Police officer named Khatera (33), who already finished her studies crossing many barriers. Her father never supported her dream. But she succeeded anyway. She had joined the Ghazni police as an officer of the crime branch a few months ago.
In this situation, three men on a two-wheeler have carried out a brutal attack on Khatera, who came out of the police station one day just after she left her job at a police station. Khatera collapsed at the scene, was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Although she endured the treatment, her eyesight was completely impaired. Some say the Taliban carried out the cruel attack, and some say it was her father, who did not want her to go to work.
In the context of the country's police investigation into this, Khatera cries and said, “I wish I had served in the police for at least a year. If this had happened to me after that, it would have been less painful. It happened too soon … I only got to work and live my dream for three months.”
