Why I didn't enter politics? Superstar Rajinikanth reveals the reason!

Months after closing his gates for political entry, Superstar actor Rajinikanth has now unveiled a reason for why he has decided to stay away from launching a political party after vowing to contest in the recently held Tamil Nadu assembly polls. Rajinikanth was under the political scanner for decades with several fans and supporters had demanded him to enter politics to inspire change.

At a high time when he was in the political spotlight over launching a new political party, Rajinikanth had earlier this year announced that he will neither be launching the party nor would voice support for any parties in the assembly polls. His announcement was a bolt from the blue for his fans as they braced up the shock that the 70-year-old actor will never enter politics. Though there were many reasons that surfaced over his decision, he had cited health issues for not entering politics.

Now, his statement over why he didn't enter politics has been going viral on social media after Rajini's PRO Riaz Ahmed released it on Twitter. In his statement, Rajinikanth said, "This novel coronavirus has transformed into a new form and approaching as the second wave. I do not want to endanger the lives of people and supporters who are coming with me just for the sake of the remarks made by the people about me for not entering politics". "I have never hesitated to speak the truth", the superstar added.

The statement has been getting rampantly spread on social media with many fans welcoming his concern towards his supporters. His statement has come a week ahead of the counting of the votes registered in the polls and it also has come in parallel to the voices among the public that the political parties and leaders didn't care about the second wave of the pandemic and concentrated on the large-scale election rallies and campaigns.

The Madras High Court had on Monday strongly castigated the Election Commission of India that the electoral body can be booked under murder for its failure to control the parties in conducting the rallies, which have become one of the factors behind the emergence of the second wave of the pandemic. At the end of 2017, Rajinikanth had asserted that he will definitely launch a political party and will contest independently in the 2021 state assembly polls.

He had then convened several meetings and discussions with the fans but he kept his suspense over when he will launch the party. It was also said that his Rajini Makkal Mandram will become his party as the members of the club had carried out some of the relief works across the state. After a long wait, the superstar had on December last year said that he will launch the political party in January 2021 and he earned more spotlight on him as it was speculated that he will contest in the assembly polls.

However, days after he announced his politics, he was hospitalized in Hyderabad for two days after some of the technicians in the shooting of his upcoming movie 'Annaatthe' had tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic. The development had shocked the fans and the doctors had advised him to take care of his health and ensure to avoid any circumstances that would make him susceptible to the viral infection.

After the hospitalization, he came to Chennai post which he had announced that he will not launch the political party due to health reasons and he closed his political gates forever. He had registered his vote and he never had voiced support for any of the party. Months after curtailing down the political drama, he has now revealed that the emergence of the COVID-19 second wave was the reason why he didn't enter politics. Some of the reports suggest that his statement is not a recent one and his PRO has released it now in the light of the second wave and the grim challenges for the nation in containing the resurgence.
