After the BJP's central leadership has named the presidents for the state units of Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, and Kerala on Saturday, it's highly anticipated that it would also announce the new president for Tamil Nadu BJP unit amid the ongoing agitations and protests against the party in the state.
The position of the state BJP chief has been remaining vacant since September last year after former President Tamilisai Soundararajan had demitted the office and took charge as the Governor of Telangana.
The race has been on for the post since then and the successor would be taking charge of the post at the high time when it's allied ruling ADMK party has been queued with series of controversies and accusations and when the state political parties have been preparing for 2021 legislative elections.
The new president would be holding the baton of central BJP to enhance the party's base in the state and some of the senior leaders including H Raja, Vanathi Srinivasan, Raghavan, Pon Radhakrishna, Nagendran have been strongly eyeing to hold the post of state party's president. Earlier on Saturday, BJP National President J.P.Nadda had appointed Vishnu Dutt Sharma as President of Madhya Pradesh BJP, Dal Bahadur Chauhan as President of BJP in Sikkim while K Surendran has been appointed as President of BJP's unit in Kerala.
