A man in Kerala had ordered a pouch for his passport on Amazon and when the pack was delivered, he was shocked to know he has been delivered with a real passport in the pouch and as the sequel of awful response from the e-commerce giant, he had directly visited the passport holder and handed the passport to him. The weird event took place recently at a high time when the e-commerce platforms have come under public scrutiny for their apathy over delivering the right product.

Mithun Babu, a native of Kaniyambetta village in Wayanad district of Kerala, had on October 30 placed an order on Amazon for a pouch for his passport. He received his order on November 1 and ended up unpacking a shocking product as he found a passport inside one of the pockets of the pouch. He told the media that he had thought that would be a dummy passport initially and later realized that it is a real and original passport.  

Babu then identified that the passport holder lives in Thrissur native and took efforts to hand it to him. After knowing that he had received an original passport, he contacted Amazon customer care and he eventually had an appalling response from the company that didn't commit to taking back the passport. He alleged that customer care had responded saying that the company will be careful in the future. They had neither apologized nor assured to get the passport. 

The passport belongs to Muhammed Salih and Mithun Babu had taken efforts on his own to deliver the passport to Salih. He used Salih's address in the passport to trace him and after finding him, Babu had returned the passport to Salih and understood how Salih's passport came in the pack delivered by Amazon. Mithun said that Salih had ordered the same pouch from Amazon earlier and kept his passport inside one of its pockets. 

Later, Salih had returned the pouch and forgotten to take his passport from the pouch. His pouch was taken back by Amazon and even the company had failed to notice that a real passport is in the pouch. Amazon didn't check while repackaging and delivered the same pouch to Mithun Babu. He said that this was a mistake from the seller on Amazon as they didn't check properly and repacked it to another customer. Mithun said he was shocked by the response from the Amazon customer care service.
