When it became known that Kamal Hassan and Gautham Menon would be attending the same event, the Vettaiyadu Vilayadu sequel update was hugely expected by movie fans. The movie's sequel has previously been talked about among netizens, and Gautham Menon formally confirmed the good news in an earlier interview.
However, there was a sudden hiatus regarding the film update. For the first time, Gautham Vasudev Menon has broken his silence in a packed arena and expressed that the extended action journey of Raghavan IPS is getting ready and informed that the script is being prepared. As per his assertion, we can expect an update about the sequel of the superhit Vettaiyadu Vilayadu after the release of Menon's upcoming Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.
It would be no surprise if the sequel happens to be Kamal Haasan's next project after Indian 2. It will indeed be an illustrious line-up of back-to-back sequels from the ceaseless movies. Gautham Menon, A R Rahman, and Silambarasan TR, the filmgoers' favourite trio has come back with yet another captivating project Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which had a lavish audio and trailer premiere on Friday evening in Chennai.
While speaking at the event, Ishari K Ganesh of Vels International, who produces the movie Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, asked Gautham Menon if the Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu sequel was ready. Together with him, Kamal Hassan told the director that he had been waiting for two years after starting to write the script. Gautham Menon reacted swiftly by saying that Jeya Mohan is drafting the script and that he would soon get it. Fans received this news as a double bonus.
Following its release in 2006 to favourable reviews and a runaway success at the box office, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyadu earned Kamal Haasan the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor. While Kamal Haasan played the lead role as a police officer, Jyothika, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Prakash Raj, Daniel Balaji, and Salim Baig played important roles.
The movie revolved around the police officer's mission to trace two serial killers and exhume shocking events and suspense. Harris Jayaraj composed the soundtrack, Anthony handled the editing and Ravi Varman handled the cinematography.
