In a turn of surprise events and sporting fervour, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to witness an unparalleled spectacle on October 14 as cricketing legends and Bollywood luminaries gather for the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan World Cup clash.

Confirmed reports from the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) have revealed that the illustrious trio of Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth, and Amitabh Bachchan, recipients of the coveted golden tickets from the BCCI, will grace the event. The trio, representing the epitome of star power, will join Bollywood star Varun Dhawan in the stands, promising a vibrant atmosphere charged with excitement.

Adding a musical touch to the proceedings, Arijit Singh, originally slated for the World Cup’s opening ceremony, is slated to perform live just before the match kicks off, according to an official ICC spokesperson). A fitting prelude to the high-octane cricketing rivalry that is sure to unfold.

However, this gathering of luminaries has prompted unprecedented security measures. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik announced the deployment of over 11,000 personnel from various security agencies, including the Gujarat Police, National Security Guard (NSG), Rapid Action Force (RAF), and Home Guard. 

He said, “In addition to more than 7,000 police personnel, nearly 4,000 Home Guard personnel will be deployed to secure the stadium. There will also be three ‘hit teams’ and an anti-drone team from the NSG. Additionally, nine teams from the bomb detection and disposal squad will be deployed. The security setup will also include three companies of the Rapid Action Force, in addition to 13 companies of the State Reserve Police (SRP).”

The star-studded event gains an additional layer of excitement with the revelation of 'Thalaivar 170,' an upcoming film featuring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, marking their reunion after a hiatus of 32 years. Directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions.

The film boasts a stellar cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. The announcement of this cinematic venture earlier in March 2023 had already set the industry abuzz with anticipation.
