Reuniting for the first time after 35 years, the legendary icons of Kollywood - Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are joining hands for a new and humongous project, which has been tentatively named 'KH 234'. The news that Kamal will collaborate with seasoned director Mani Ratnam for the ambitious project came as a pleasant surprise when the announcement was made by the production team last week. 

The latest talk has been out about the shooting phase to live on floors, which has been dropped by Udayindhi Stalin. KH 234 will be produced by Kamal Haasan's 'Raaj Kamal Films International' and Mani Ratnam's 'Madras Talkies' and will be distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about the project during an interview with a popular media house and said that the film KH234 will begin by next year in August or September 2023. 

Udhayanidhi said, "Kamal and Mani sir were in talks for collaboration and wanted me to look after the production. Mani sir has narrated three lines and the story is yet to be fixed. We will go on floors sometime in August-September next year. Meanwhile, the shooting of Indian 2 is currently happening at a fast pace." The Kollywood powerhouses Maniratnam and Kamal Hassan both reached the pinnacle of success with their prior blockbusters Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Vikram, respectively. 

The iconic movie will be released in 2024. Kamal Haasan is currently preoccupied with the Lyca Productions and Shankar-directed film "Indian 2." On the occasion of Ulaganayagan's 68th birthday, the makers dropped the ambitious project KH234, on social media and simply made fans go agog. An official update regarding the cast and crew is yet to be made. It is pertinent to note that Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam previously collaborated in the movie 'Nayagan', three decades ago, in 1987.
