With flagging the row of blockbuster movies, the duo of Dhanush and Vetrimaaran had shaped the new vertical, new approaches of inducting collective voices in their movies in the trio of acting, directing and producing and that's how their latest camping of 'Asuran' which can unquestionably be named as the fittest movie to stem and to upgrade the duo in cinematic ties and the strongest movie that had successfully portrayed their unbreakable and admirable commitment.
'Asuran' carries the tone of the story crafted during the 80's in most of the villages of Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district which the director had revealed it through picture without mentioning the name of the villages and the exact period - that sets the example of how unique the picture can be that it draw the attention of the eyes of the audience. The movie travels with the murder committed by Sivasami's (Dhanush) 16 year old son Chidambaram which had led the whole family to flee the village to get rid off the legal consequences that had eventually separated the family- mother and daughter takes one route while son stayed with Dhanush, who travels in the opposite direction of convincing his son to get surrendered to relieve from the dangerous circle. The story had taken the audience to join the Sivasami's family to screen off the reason behind the murder and the reason behind Sivasami's approach in staying off from the violence and these collective components had undoubtedly registered by the director Vetrimaaran through the mixtures that pictured the sentiments of the audiences.
With the nucleus from the 'Vekkai' novel written by one of prominent Tamil writers Poomani, the director had carved each and every scene of the movie without inciting the hostilities for hunting the resolutions and the director deserves huge applause on his matured creation of the movie in his unique style till the climax. Despite of directing only five movies in his twelve years of directing careers, Vetrimaaran's every movie had stayed very close to the hearts of millions beyond the ages for his unique and exceptional way of story telling and movie making and out of those five movies, four were acted by Dhanush - of which every picture had attained huge hit across the languages that had glued them to stick in their commitment. In the pages of their successful movies like Pollathavan, Aadukalam, Vadachennai and Visaranai (directed by Vetrimaaran and produced by Dhanush), 'Asuran' gets added to their recent venture of unleashing their style of being exceptional with their commitment.
With no questions, Actor Dhanush had efficaciously fitted for the character of 'Sivasami' where he acted as 40 plus responsible fatherly man - the daring move indeed, in one part while on the other part, his young character had stayed with admiration and with the mixtures of valor and velocity. The way director Vetrimaaran had linked the story with the interesting pieces along with the risky task of replicating the novel with the motive of presenting the movie of quality must be saluted. The movie connects and stays close to the heart with picturing the prevailing regional lingual in the villages and the effective field work of filming the on ground reality. While marking one of the successes for Dhanush- Vetrimaaran duo, it also gets added to Kalaipuli Dhanu's 'V' creations for proudly producing and succeeding with the project 'Asuran'.
The movie had filmed the real societal differences based on the class and the caste along with the politics to acquire the land that travels without lowering the seriousness and expectations of the audience and adding to that, the characters and actors had enhanced the possibilities of being a successful movie where most of the people in Vetrimaaran's casting list had acted in the movie and they have equally given and stayed with the uniqueness of the story without rewinding their past film acting. Ken Karunas and DJ Arunachalam had made their debut in this movie but acted with the assumption that they had earned previous acting experiences while rest of the acting crew including Prakash Raj, Pasupathi, Naren, Pavan, Subramaniam Siva, Venkatesh had justified their roles and delivered justice, regardless of their play. Making her debut in Tamil movie, Malayalam actor Manju Varrier, who acted as Sivasami's wife had registered her potential acting. The cinematography of Velraj had preciously presented the uniqueness of Vetrimaaran and so does the stunts and the movie that mostly filled with darkness had somehow flagged the fear and anxiety among the audience while G.V. Prakash's music and the background music had shaped to travel in the path of the hero which strongly kept the track of the story alive.
However, it had seemed that the director could have directed with balanced mindset while directing the scenes of bloodbath and the second part of the movie had literally long flashback that was filled with killings and brutal killings. But despite of these lags, 'Asuran' undeniably is the big adventure that had flagged with huge victory which aspires the fans and the audience to keep their thirst alive which will be get watered by Dhanush-Vetrimaaran duo in their next upcoming movies.
