There were several suicides in Tamil Nadu recently and all these deaths have a common factor to link with - the loss of humungous money in online games. Showcasing a huge warning that such menaces would destroy your family, a woman in Chennai has now committed suicide and ended her life after her husband lost money in online rummy.
According to reports, the deceased woman had reserved the lost money for her children's education. 39-year-old Bhuvaneshwari had committed suicide on Thursday at Nandambakkam in Chennai. She has taken the extreme step after her husband Suresh had lost the money which she had kept for her son's educational fee. The development has grabbed major attention and prompted the government to launch immediate action.
Suresh was unemployed and he was addicted to online rummy. He had lost money several times before due to which Bhuvaneshwari had again warned him not to play. The reports say that Bhuvaneshwari had saved Rs 20,000 to pay the fee for her son, who is studying Class IX. Suresh took that money, without Bhuvaneshwari's knowledge, to play online rummy.
He played the game and ended up losing it. Bhuvaneshwari had searched for the money and when she came to know that Suresh had lost the money, she fell in frustration. She then picked up a quarrel with her husband after which she hanged herself from the ceiling of her residence. The Nandambakkam police have registered a case and have launched a probe.
