In a shocking development, renowned Tamil actor and Chennai based dermatologist Dr. Sethuraman has passed away in Chennai on Thursday night due to cardiac arrest. He was aged 37. 

Being a dermatologist by profession, Sethuraman was serving at his skincare and cosmetology facility 'Zi Clinic' which is based in Chennai and he made his debut in Tamil Cinema through playing a lead role in 2013 comedy-drama movie 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya' and he acted in the movie along with reputed comedian Santhanam.

After the success in the first movie, the term actor got added behind his name as one of his professions and he was better known as Sethu in the Tamil film industry. Following the success in the debut picture, he acted in the movies like Vaaliba Raja, 50/50, and Sakka Podu Podu Raja. In 2016, he set up the Zi clinic on his own and he was serving as a full-time dermatologist.

According to the reports, the actor cum doctor has suffered a cardiac arrest at around 8.45 pm at his residence and he was taken to the private hospital. However, he was declared dead. He was aged 37 and was surviving with his wife, whom he married in 2016, and a child. The deceased doctor has observed close ties with actor Santhanam through which he made a debut to the Tamil film industry. In 2017, he underwent critical spine surgery. He holds MBBS and MD degree and he received training on laser-based skin surgery in Mumbai and Singapore.

Condolences pour in from the reputed and notable faces of the Tamil cinema industry who paid their last respect to the actor. Santhanam took to Twitter and stated that "Totally shocked and depressed on the demise of my dear friend Dr.Sethu... May his soul rest in peace". The actors like Sathish, Jayam Ravi, Vishnu Vishal, Atharvaa, Prasanna, Sibiraj, and composer Anirudh had placed their condolences.
