A woman school teacher in the Trichy district of Tamil Nadu has become the talk of the town after she has forced a Class 11 student to marry her. When the weirdest incident has come to light, the police had arrested the teacher and booked her under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act as she has illegitimately forced a minor to marry her.

According to reports, a school teacher named Sharmila has groomed a class 11 student of the same school to marry her. The student has left his home on March 5 to play with his friends. However, he didn't return home after which his parents went in search of him. After having no clue about his whereabouts, the parents of the students had lodged a complaint with the police. 

Based on the complaint, the police had filed a missing case and launched a probe. During the investigation, the police had developed suspicions about school teacher Sharmila. The officials had obtained Sharmila's contact number and traced her location. She was located at her friend's house at Edamallapatti Puthur in Trichy. The police had rushed to the spot and found her. During the inquiry about the missing student, Sharmila has confessed that she has forced the student to marry her.

She further divulged that they had got married at a temple in Tanjore and the student had tied Talli (a golden ornament tied by the groom around the bride's neck as the marriage badge) to her. Shocked to hear her statement, the police have arrested Sharmila and booked a case under POCSO Act. She was then lodged in prison while the officials had recovered the Class 11 student from Sharmila's custody.
