Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has been at war with the BJP and issued a warning to Telangana BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay to refrain from making reckless talks. The Chief Minister has warned Sanjay by saying 'we will cut your tongue' if he makes loose talks. As the dispute grows, the development had stirred tensions between both parties.
The issue started with the BJP's intervention into the state government's directive to the farmers not to cultivate paddy. The BJP chief has been accused of giving false hope to the farmers by asking them to produce paddy. While addressing the reporters on Sunday, KCR has issued a warning to Sanjay, urging him not to make reckless talks or else his tongue will be cut. KCR has staunchly reprimanded the state BJP chief that the latter has been lying to the farmers of Telangana by asking them to cultivate paddy and giving them false hope that the BJP will ensure that the produce is procured.
On the instruction why the farmers are asked not to cultivate paddy, KCR said, "The centre has said they are not going to buy paddy. That's the reason why the agricultural minister asked farmers to go for other crops instead of paddy to prevent the losses incurred by them. The centre is behaving irresponsibly." It is the first time in recent months that KCR has strongly flayed the BJP and the development of a shocking warning from the Chief Minister has drawn national attention.
KCR further said, "I had directly visited the concerned Union Minister and appealed to him to take the procured parboiled rice. He said he will take a decision and communicate to me, but till now I have received no response. Already, Telangana state has around 5 lakh tons of paddy from last year and the centre is not buying it." He said, "The centre is saying we will not procure paddy and the state BJP is saying we will procure it. Refrain from the loose talk. We will cut your (BJP leaders) tongues if you make any unnecessary comments about us."
He stated, "China is attacking us in Arunachal Pradesh. However, the centre hasn't taken any action. We were silent till now, thinking that it's better to let the dogs bark, but now, we will not keep quiet. Legal action will be initiated." Responding to the jail comments from Bandi Sanjay, KCR said, "Sanjay said he will send me to jail. I dare him to touch me." The Chief Minister further condemned the BJP for its policies against farmers and he said, "You (BJP) are killing farmers by running cars on them. A BJP CM asks people to beat farmers to death."
"We will support the farmers who are protesting against three farm laws. We have the responsibility to save the farmers. The opposition is playing cheap politics. They are playing with the sentiments of the farmers", he added. KCR further urged the centre to take back the cess levied on petrol and diesel. He said, "Centre has lied on petrol and diesel prices. Crude oil price was $105 in 2014 and now it is $83. BJP had lied to the public saying that prices of petrol and diesel have increased abroad."
