Indian skipper Virat Kohli is in the blissful showers from across the country after he shared the news that he and his wife Anushka Sharma had welcomed a baby girl on Monday. One of the star and reputed couples in the country has been getting widespread wishes and congratulations from his fans and celebrities after they have become parents.
Sharing the exciting news as a father, Virat Kohli took to social media and said, "We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat".
Kohli and renowned actress Anushka Sharma had got married in Tuscany, Italy on December 11, 2017. They were in a relationship for some years before they got married. They both are at 32 and in August 2020, they took to social media and announced that they were expecting a child. Virat Kohli wrote, "And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021" and he shared a picture of him with Anushka with her baby bump.
Since the couple announced that they are expecting a child, Anushka Sharma had been sharing updates on her pregnancy. While the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary, Anushka took to social media and posted a picture where she can be seen hugging Virat from behind and she captioned the photo as, "3 years of us and very soon, 3 of us. Miss you". She shared the photo when Virat Kohli was in Australia, leading the Indian team.
However, Kohli recently returned to India to be with Anushka during her pregnancy. He skipped the ongoing Test series with Australia by naming Ajinkya Rahane as the standing captain. Kohli said that he would be coming back to India for paternity leave for the birth of his first child in January. As announced, Kohli had on Monday shared the news of welcoming a baby girl.
Soon after he announced the news, his fans, well-wishers, and celebrities across the country have been wishing the couple on becoming parents. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter and wished Virat Kohli. In his post, Tendulkar wrote, "Congratulations @imVkohli & @AnushkaSharma on the arrival of the little angel in your lives! May her life be blessed with good health & love".
Reputed cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and said, "Congratulations @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma for lil princess. Best phase of life starts now.. God bless you all.. much love". Young all-rounder Hardik Pandya said, "Congratulations brother and @AnushkaSharma. Welcome to parenthood. A big hug to the little one, who'll give you happiness like you've never experienced before". Shikhar Dhawan said, "Congratulations @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma on the birth of your daughter. Lots of love to the little one". Australian cricketer David Warner congratulated Kohli and asked him to message him directly for some tips. Warner wrote, "Awesome news, congrats buddy. DM me for some tips".
