Watch: Rahul Gandhi drives tractor as he entered the BJP ruling state for a rally against the farm bills!

Amid the high-level drama unfolded by the BJP ruling state of Haryana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had attended the events and led the 'tractor' rally in the state against the three farm bills proposed by the Central ruling BJP party.

According to reports, Rahul Gandhi was stopped by the Haryana state authorities at the border with Punjab from entering the state for the rally. The former Congress president has been rallying against the farm bills and he participated in the rally in Patiala, Punjab on Tuesday and after he wrapped up the rally in Patiala, Rahul Gandhi drove a tractor to reach Haryana for another rally on the concluding day of his "Kheti Bachao Yatra", the campaign against the farm bills.

As he drove the tractor towards Haryana, he was accompanied by senior Congress leaders including the Punjab Chief Minister and the Punjab Congress President. Rahul Gandhi led the procession followed by many Congress members and when the procession reached the highway near Teokar village on Pehowa border between Punjab and Haryana, the state authorities of Haryana had stopped the rally by citing the COVID-19 restrictions.

The rally was stopped for an hour and reacting to the barricade from the Haryana authorities from entering the state, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and said, "They have stopped us on a bridge on the Haryana border. I’m not moving and am happy to wait here. 1 hour, 5 hours, 24 hours, 100 hours, 1000 hours or 5000 hours". The Congress party members had later protested against the Haryana authorities on prohibiting the leaders to enter the state for the rally.

Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's arrival at the border, the Haryana government had deployed police forces at the border to stop the procession.

The police officials said that they would not allow more than 100 people to gather at one place as per the guidelines in place due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The Congress leaders had waited at the border for more than an hour.

The BJP ruling state government has on Monday said that the Congress leader can bring a few people in the state but it will not permit a huge crowd from Punjab, which can disturb the atmosphere of Haryana. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij had echoed each other's statements and said that they won't permit the big procession as it would disturb the atmosphere of the state.

However, hours after the restriction, Rahul Gandhi and a few other Congress leaders were later allowed to enter Haryana where Gandhi had a couple of events. Some of the Congress leaders who accompanied include Haryana Congress President Kumari Selja, senior leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kiran Choudhary, Ajay Singh Yadav, and party's Haryana affairs in-charge Vivek Bansal.
