Watch: It's Yuvan's style of wishing 'Happy Birthday' to his dad, Music Maestro Ilaiyaraaja!

Music Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, who reigns the cinema industry as the 'King' of Music, has been flooded with hearty wishes from thousands of fans and celebrities across and beyond the borders as he is celebrating his 78th birthday on Wednesday. Though hundreds of wishes relish the birthday celebrations, wishes from their children would be special and close to heart for everyone who is celebrating the birthday.  

Likewise, a birthday wish from Ilaiyaraaja's son and popular music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has become so special and adorable for the music maestro that it reminisces a memory that he had with his grandchildren. In what has become Yuvan's style of wishing Happy birthday to his father, Yuvan has shared a throwback video on social media to wish Ilaiyaraaja a special birthday. 

In the video, Ilaiyaraaja can be seen playing the piano with his grandkids. The maestro can be seen holding his granddaughter Ziya's hands as he plays the 'Happy Birthday' song on the musical instrument along with the grandson. The video was said to have taken during Ziya's birthday, sometime last year. 

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote, "Happy birthday daddy". He had left heart emojis and shared a throwback video of Ilaiyaraaja with his grandkids to wish him a Happy birthday. The video has been going viral since it was published. Several fans are sharing the video and wishing the maestro a happy and healthy birthday. 

According to reports, Ilaiyaraaja has celebrated his 78th birthday on Wednesday with his family members at his residence in Chennai. The maestro is undisputably an asset and treasure of the Tamil cinema industry and he also can be defined as an author of the Tamil Music world after the 1960s and an artist of how the music can be defined and decorated.

In a career spanning over five decades, Ilaiyaraaja has presented the music and songs that are loved by all generations and he is one of the everlasting household names in the Indian cinema industry. He has deeply rooted the definition of music and its allegory. Ilaiyaraaja has been conferred with Padma Bhushan in 2010 and with the Padma Vibhushan award in 2018. 

In 2012, he received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the highest Indian recognition given for his creative and experimental works in the music field. Ilaiyaraaja has composed over 7,000 songs in 1,000 movies and currently, he has been composing music for director Vetri Maaran's upcoming film with Soori and Vijay Sethupathi.
