Watch: Ashwin's befitting reply to Paine! How the Aussie captain got mocked by Indian fans?

The ongoing test series between India and Australia has been witnessing the never-recorded souring moments on and off the field and the shocking incidents have come with the ingredients of insulting, intimidating, and eventually sledging the Indian players. These incidents weren't pleased by the Indian fans, pushing Cricket Australia to introspect how to treat the visitors.

When Indian bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah faced racial abuse from the crowd on Saturday during the third test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, it had shocked the Indian team and fans with the BCCI scathingly saying that it's not acceptable and Virat Kohli claiming the abusive remarks as a rowdy behavior. The Indian team had lodged a complaint with the International Cricket Council and castigated the Australian Cricket board.

Amid stirring a heat between the fans and players, India had now witnessed direct sledging from the Aussie captain in his bid to divert India's play, but eventually, he got back a befitting reply from Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin. India and Australia were playing their third test at Sydney Cricket Ground and the visitors were batting to chase the target of 407 runs put by the host. India was at its second innings while Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari were on the crease.

When Ashwin was batting to sail his team towards the target, he was getting some disturbances behind the stumps from Aussie Captain and Wicket Keeper Tim Paine. Ashwin was displaying incredible batting amid suffering injuries during which the stadium witnessed a spat triggered by Paine. When Ashwin was at the striker's end preparing to face the bowler, Paine, who was behind the stumps, can be heard telling Ashwin - "Can't wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash".

Gabba cricket ground is in Brisbane and it will be hosting the fourth and final test of the series from January 15. Through his remark of intimidating Ashwin, Paine apparently referred to India's reluctance to travel to Brisbane for the fourth Test due to the hard quarantine rules in the city. After receiving such a remark, Ashwin didn't have a second thought and he gave a befitting reply to the Aussie captain. Ashwin can be heard saying, "Just like we wanna get you to India, it will be your last series".

The conversation was recorded by the stump mic and the exchanges between the two were caught perfectly and it has been getting widely spread across social media with many Indian fans lauding Ashwin and flaying Paine for what has been described as a display of an awful sledge. The incident wasn't pleased by the cricket fans and Ashwin's savage reply has been going viral. Many Tweeple in India are saying that Tim Paine is left with no respect and he is nervous and some calling the Aussie players don't mess with Ashwin as he is aggressive like Kohli.

While Paine has unfolded his bid to divert Indian batsmen from building a winning momentum, he had eventually got fired by Ashwin and mocked by the Indian fans as the host pack up for the last Test with the unprecedented takeaway. On the game front, the third test has ended in a draw on the final day after India bat out the final day to hold on with five wickets in hand.  When India was suffering after losing five wickets for 272 with 230 runs short of the target, Ashwin and Vihari displayed a splendid partnership in containing the Aussie bowlers in their winning campaign.

Both the batsmen had brought the hard-fought battle to a draw with India eventually posting 334 runs by losing five wickets. While Rishabh Pant scored 97 runs and Pujara got dismissed for 77, Ashwin and Vihari delivered a crucial play of preventing the team from defeat. Ashwin and Vihari had faced 289 deliveries and scored 62 runs which helped India to end the match with a draw and to stay alive in the series. At the end of three Test matches, both the teams had secured one victory with one match got drawn and they will be tossing up for the four and final test match in Brisbane from January 15th, which would a do or die match and if India wins the match, it would return home with winning the series.
