Days after arriving in Chennai amid the rousing welcome given by her supporters, expelled ADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala has banned the visitors and asked them not to visit her for a week as she has decided to isolate herself before getting into the circle of active politics. The development has come after she had endured a 23-hour long journey from Bengaluru to Chennai and days after she was discharged from the hospital after getting recovered from the COVID-19 viral infection.
VK Sasikala has arrived in Chennai on Tuesday after completing a four-year prison sentence in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru. She started from Bengaluru at around 7.30 am on Monday and she reached Chennai at around 5.30 am on Tuesday.
It took her 23 hours to reach Chennai by road as she was offered a grand welcome by her supporters throughout her way and she stopped at around 56 points to accept the reception given by her supporters. During her way, she addressed them and asserted that she will definitely plunge into active politics.
After reaching Chennai, she drove to ADMK Founder MG Ramachandran's residence and paid floral tribute to the late leader. Sasikala has now been staying in the residence, that belongs to Krishnapriya, the daughter of Ilavarasi, in T Nagar, Chennai. Sasikala's supporters have been gathering before the residence since she arrived. However, she hasn't exited her house and she only met some of the party members including Former ADMK MLA Nanjil Murugesan, who was removed from the party last July after he was accused in a sexual assault case.
According to a news agency, Sasikala has decided not to meet the visitors for a week and she would self-isolate for at least a week. Ilavarasi, who also had served a prison sentence along with Sasikala, will be staying with Sasikala for a week in the residence. The agency has said that Sasikala has been advised to take a rest and she may begin meeting the visitors from next week.
The reports say that Sasikala's legal counsel has been waiting for her call to discuss what can be done towards taking over the control of the ADMK party, which has been controlled by Sasikala's supporters-turned-foes Edappadi Palaniswami and Panneerselvam. It has been expected that Sasikala will start her process towards plunging into active politics within this month as Tamil Nadu is just two months away from the assembly polls.
As Sasikala is currently staying in Krishnapriya's residence, the latter has been staying in a residence that is near to Sasikala's. The residence where Sasikala is currently staying is a property of Anjaneya Printers Private Limited, in which Krishnapriya is one of the directors. The reports say that Sasikala has decided to stay in T Nagar's residence after the Income Tax Department had attached Sasikala's property opposite of Veda Nilayam, Jayalalithaa's residence, in Poes Garden, Chennai.
