The shocking death of popular Tamil TV actor and host VJ Chitra has now been surfaced with a lot of questions and suspicions on what had let her take an extreme step with some of her close friends alleging foul play in her death and demanding a fair investigation into her death and all eyes have now turned towards Chitra's fiance Hemnath, who was staying with her in the hotel room where she had committed suicide.
VJ Chitra was found dead at a private hotel in Nazrathpet in Chennai in the wee hours of Wednesday. She was 29 and the police had launched a probe to ascertain the cause of her death and her demise has come months after her engagement and when she had been rising to fame in the Kollywood industry with having been committed for a Tamil film. According to the police department, Chitra had checked into her room at a private hotel in Nazrathpet, Chennai at around 2.30 am on Wednesday after completing the shoot. Speaking to a news agency, a police officer in Nazrathpet said that the hotel manager had informed the police by dialing the helpline number 100 at around 3.30 am and the police had launched a probe into her death.
The police had recovered her body and sent it for the autopsy to Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai and the officials are investigating Chitra's fiance Hemnath and hotel staff to find out the reason for her death. During the investigation, Hemnath said that Chitra was attending a TV serial shooting at EVP Film City in Nazrathpet and she returned to the hotel room at around 2.30 on Wednesday and informed him that she would go to take a bath and she asked him to wait outside.
Hemnath further stated that he came out of the room and was waiting outside for a long time. He later knocked on the doors, however, there was no response from inside following which Hemnath had informed the hotel staff and hotel employee Ganesh had accompanied Chitra's fiance to the room, and the employee had opened the room by using the alternative key and when they entered the room, they were shocked to see Chitra was hanging from the ceiling fan, following which the hotel had informed the police.
However, some of the notable TV artists, who were close to Chitra and have been bracing up a deep shock and pain after learning her demise, say that she wouldn't have committed suicide and they suspect foul play in her death. Chitra's untimely demise had sent shockwaves to her fans and cinema fraternities and while her fans are paying tribute, some of the artists who know her closely had put out several questions and suspicions over her death. Calling Chitra a brave woman, her friends say that she had chosen the wrong guy to be her life partner.
In multiple interviews on Wednesday after her death, her friends spell dubious on why Chitra has to ask her fiance Hemnath to wait outside of the room when they both were engaged and done a registered marriage in October and they claimed that they had warned Chitra that Hemanth is the wrong guy with some claiming that he had several relationships. Her friends doubt that her fiance would have been involved in the incident.
Her friends said that Chitra was a highly successful and dedicated actress and she rose to fame through her hard work. They say that being a psychiatrist, Chitra was against suicide and she was a brave woman that she would keep moving on regardless of issues. Her friends say that there is no chance that Chitra had decided to commit suicide and some of the reports had questioned the grounds of murder as there was a bloodstain in her cheek and her friends had demanded a fair probe to deliver justice to her death.
Chitra's father, who is a retired police officer, had filed a complaint with the Nazrathpet Police station demanding a fair probe into her death and Chitra's family members had also alleged that they are suspicious of her death. Chitra and Hemnath had got engaged in August and they had a simple registered marriage in October and since her death had occurred within seven years of marriage, the reports say that the revenue department will also be investigating the case while Cybercrime police are currently reviewing her call records.
Chitra, who was a resident of Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai, was staying with her fiance in Nazrathpet in the outskirts of the city, and hours before her death, Chitra had shared her pictures on Instagram from a photoshoot in which she was seen dressed in a purple and green silk saree. Chitra rose to fame by acting in the role of Mullai Kathiravan in Pandian stores, which has become one of the most-watched soap-operas in Tamil Nadu and Chitra had gained the limelight as one of the rising talents in the Tamil industry and the reports say that she was said to have signed to play an important role in an upcoming Tamil film. According to the latest reports, the police have been investigating Hemnath for the second straight day.
