Superstar Rajinikanth is back in action with his latest film ‘Lal Salaam’, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The actor, who recently wrapped up the shooting of ‘Jailer’, has shifted his focus to the sports drama, which features him in an extended cameo role as Moideen Bhai, a Muslim man who mentors two young cricketers played by Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth.
The shooting of ‘Lal Salaam’ is currently happening in Pondicherry, where Rajinikanth will be filming for another two weeks. The actor was spotted in his character look on the sets, and a video of him waving to his fans has gone viral on social media. The fans are super excited to see their Thalaivar in a new avatar and are eagerly waiting for the film’s release.
‘Lal Salaam’ also marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and his daughter Aishwarya, who returns to feature film direction after eight years. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, who has previously worked with Rajinikanth in several blockbuster films.
The film also has a special appearance by former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, who will be seen sharing screen space with Rajinikanth. ‘Lal Salaam’ is produced by Lyca Productions, which has backed several big-budget films starring Rajinikanth, such as ‘2.0’ and ‘Darbar’. The film is planned to have a pan-Indian release later this year and is expected to be a treat for Rajinikanth’s fans across the country.
Superstar Rajinikanth also have Jailer, where he plays the lead role of a jailer who has to deal with a group of notorious criminals in his prison. The film is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, features a stellar cast of Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia and others in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is slated to release on August 10, 2023
