Viral Update: Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer release date is here... Makers drop the most awaited update!

The fans of Superstar Rajinikanth are in for a treat as the makers of his upcoming film Jailer have announced the release date of the film. Sun Pictures, the production house behind the film, shared a glimpse of the movie on their official page on Thursday and dropped the release date. The video showed Rajinikanth’s swag entry from the car to the frame, leaving the viewers in awe.

As per the update, Jailer is all set to release on 10th August 2023 on the occasion of Varalakshmi Vratam. The film is a dark comedy actioner film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who is known for his hit films Kolamavu Kokila and Doctor.

The film marks the first collaboration of Nelson with Rajinikanth. It also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal (in a cameo role) and many others in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously worked with Rajinikanth in Petta and Darbar.

The film was officially announced in February last year with the working title Thalaivar 169, being the 169th film of Rajinikanth. The official title Jailer was revealed in June later along with the first look poster which introduced Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, a jailer. The shooting of the film began in August in Chennai and was completed by last month. 

Jailer is expected to be a fun-filled entertainer with a lot of twists and turns. As per rumors, Shiva Rajkumar will play his rival while Tamannaah will play his love interest. Ramya Krishnan will play a powerful politician while Jackie Shroff will play a mafia don. Mohanlal will make a special appearance as a superstar actor.

Jailer is one of the most anticipated films of 2023 as it will be Rajinikanth’s first release after his political announcement. The teaser of the film is expected to be released soon and create a huge buzz among the fans.
