Viral Update: Prabhas's next Project K to launch its title and trailer soon!

The fever has begun for the most awaited sci-fi action thriller of the year, Project K, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, is set to unveil its first glimpse at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 20 (USA) and July 21 (India).

The fans are eagerly waiting to witness the ultimate showdown between the four superstars in this epic film that draws inspiration from Mahabharata but is set in a futuristic world. Prabhas, who plays the lead role in the film, dropped a new poster by taking us to his Instagram account, teasing the fans with a glimpse of his character. The poster shows two hands, one covered in cloth bandages and the other adorned with armour, fist bumping.

The caption reads, “The world awaits the ultimate showdown. Brace yourselves for a glimpse into the world of #ProjectK on July 20 (USA) & July 21 (INDIA).” The poster also reveals the logo of the film, which is a stylized letter K with a circular design. The film’s production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, also shared the poster on their social media handles.

The film’s director, Nag Ashwin, also teased the fans with a tweet that hinted at the title of the film. He wrote, "5 days to the big reveal  Keep guessing what’s inside until the world knows! #ProjectK #WhatisProjectK". According to some reports, the film’s title could be KaalChakra, which means the cycle of time or destiny. Project K is reportedly being made on a budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.

The film’s music score is composed by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 12 January 2024.

Project K marks Deepika Padukone’s debut in Telugu cinema and Kamal Haasan’s comeback to Hindi cinema after almost two decades. Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the film is said to be very crucial and pivotal to the story. 

Project K is a dream project for Nag Ashwin, who has previously directed critically acclaimed films like Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati. He has been working on this original story and screenplay for a long time and has assembled a stellar cast and crew for this ambitious venture. He has also invited visual artists, designers and writers to join the production and contribute their creative ideas.

The film that promises to be a visual spectacle and a cinematic marvel that will take the audience on a thrilling ride into a futuristic world where destiny plays a key role. The film will also showcase the clash of ideologies and values between the four protagonists who represent different aspects of humanity.
