Fans have been eagerly waiting for his next big project, and it seems like their wait is finally over. The versatile actor is all set to play the role of Karna, the tragic hero of Mahabharata, in a magnum opus titled ‘Suriyaputra Mahavir Karna’.
The announcement of the film was made back in 2017, but due to several delays caused by different reasons, the project got postponed. However, the good news is that the director RS Vimal has recently confirmed that the film will soon start rolling.
The director took to his Instagram account to share a picture from the film, which shows Vikram in a majestic avatar. He simply captioned the post, “Sooryaputhran karnan. Rolling soon”. The film said to be made in five languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada - and will have a budget of Rs 300 crore, making it one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema.
The film, which is based on the life of Karna, the son of Surya and Kunti, who was abandoned by his mother and raised by a charioteer, will showcase his valor, loyalty, generosity and sacrifice. Karna, who was a friend and ally of the Kauravas, fought against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war, despite knowing that they were his brothers.
He was also known for his generosity, as he never refused anyone who asked for his help, even if it meant giving away his armor and earrings, which were his source of strength. The film, which is produced by United Film Kingdom, will have a stellar cast and crew, Suresh Gopi, as per reported earlier.
The film is expected to be a visual spectacle, as it will recreate the ancient era of Mahabharata, with grand sets, costumes, and special effects. The film is expected to have some of the most epic battle scenes, as it will depict the Kurukshetra war, which lasted for 18 days and involved millions of warriors. The film will also explore the emotional and psychological aspects of Karna, who was torn between his loyalty and his identity.
The film, which is one of the most anticipated projects of Chiyaan Vikram, will be a tribute to the legendary character of Karna, who is revered as a hero and a martyr by millions of people.
