The year 2023 is shaping up to be a blockbuster one for the Indian film industry, with many big-budget movies lined up for release. However, one of the most anticipated films of the year, Salaar, starring Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, is expected to face some stiff competition from another mega-star, Shah Rukh Khan.
An official announcement by Hombale Films, the producers of Salaar, is expected to be made on 29th September. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, is a pan-Indian action thriller that promises to showcase Prabhas in a never-seen-before avatar. However, there have been reports from insiders that Shah Rukh Khan’s social comedy-drama Dunki, which was earlier slated to release on 22nd December, has been postponed.
Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is about illegal immigration. The film which lead by Shah Rukh Khan, also have Taapsee Pannu and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles. As per IMBD, the story plots the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight' by Indians to immigrate to countries like Canada and USA.
The postponement of Dunki may be a relief for the makers of Salaar, who can now enjoy a solo release and cash in on the festive season. However, it may also disappoint the fans of Shah Rukh Khan, who have been eagerly waiting for his return after Jawan. It remains to be seen how the release dates of these films will be finalized and whether the audiences will get to witness a clash of titans or a peaceful co-existence of the superstars.
