Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Will Smith has on Saturday arrived in Mumbai, which has become his first public appearance after the controversy that he sparked after slapping actor Chris Rock on the Oscars stage late last month. Smith has landed in Mumbai as he has marked his first visit to India in three years.
Will Smith was spotted at the private terminal of the Mumbai Airport on Saturday - April 23 and it has been reported that the Hollywood actor has arrived in India for a spiritual meeting. He has been staying at JW Marriott Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai and he has planned a trip for a secret spiritual meeting. Will Smith has planned to meet the spiritual gurus including Sadhguru during his stay in India.
It is widely known that Will Smith is close to Sadhguru and in the past, he had hosted the spiritual leader at his house. He has also planned to visit the ISKCON temple and the visuals of the actor from the Mumbai airport have been going viral on social media as hundreds of his fans in India welcome him to the country after three years. The reports in the know say that Will Smith has arrived in Mumbai to visit the ISKCON temple in Kharghar.
This temple in Kharghar is known for organizing meditating sessions and pujas daily. It has also been reported that Will Smith may share the table with the Bollywood stars while staying in the city. Will Smith has visited India in 2019 for the shooting of his reality show 'The Bucket List'. During the 2019 visit, Will Smith met a few Bollywood stars and shot a segment with the team of 'Student of the Year 2'. He also had visited Haridwar.
Will Smith has made his first public appearance in Mumbai since facing an outcast at the Oscars for slapping actor Chris Rock after the latter had mocked his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith during the Oscars ceremony. The event had triggered global attention and attracted more spotlight than his moment of lifting the first Oscar award in his career. He was conferred with the award as the best actor for his role in the movie 'King Richard'.
Though Will Smith had issued a public apology to Chris Rock and to the Academy, the management of the Oscars Award had banned Will Smith from attending future events, including the Oscars, for ten years. In his note of apology to Chris Rock, Will Smith said, "I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
