Actor Simbu will soon be sporting an avatar that he left 16 years ago. You read it right. The actor has revealed his big plan that he aspires to start directing movies soon. In a press meet ahead of the release of the upcoming movie 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu', which has been slated for a theatrical release on September 15, Simbu divulged his desire to direct movies.
Simbu declared that he plans to start directing films shortly. His only movie as a director was 'Vallavan' which was released in 2006. Besides directing, he acted in the lead role while Nayanthara and Reema Sen played the female lead. The movie was the talk of the town at that time but the actor took a break from directing movies.
After a long hiatus, Simbu has now said that he plans to direct a movie and has already prepared a number of screenplays for the project during the promotional event for the movie. Simbu reportedly said that he has ten stories ready but he is yet to finalize a story. He asserted that he will begin the direction soon and when questioned about roping in the leading actors in his directorial, he responded that he will play the lead role.
He stated that though he might direct movies featuring someone else, he will play the lead character in each of these stories. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is bankrolled by Vels Films International and helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. AR Rahman has composed the music and Simbu has several projects in his pipeline including Obeli N Krishna's 'Pathu Thala' and Gokul's 'Corona Kumar'.
