Legendary director Mani Ratnam's 25-year dream project will finally be served true later this month, and it's indeed a dream project of the entire Tamil cinema industry. The filmmaker's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' has been slated for theatrical release on September 30 and when Cholas begin rocking all over the world, it will be a cherishing moment for the moviegoers to relish the impressive cluster of big stars on a single screen. 

The most recent update about the duration and screen counts has been prospering online. As per the update, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is presumed to be released in approximately 7500 theatres worldwide, including about 4500 screens in India. The runtime of the movie is said to be 2 hours and 50 minutes. As the movie is getting close to its release, the big stars are building a plan to converge together for the promotions. 

It has been reported that the cast will be visiting Brihadeshwara Temple in Thanjavur soon and recently, there were hilarious conversations going on between the actors on Twitter - particularly between actors Vikram and Karthi who play crucial roles. Before formally commencing the promotions, actors Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha will pay a visit to the temple. 

Ponniyin Selvan will be getting released in five languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.  The story will be travelled with none other than Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan's voice narration, adding to the already more than enough treat for the fans and arriving as extra dessert. With two weeks until the movie's release, reservations for the movie have started in the USA, and a few centres have started taking reservations for the premiere and the first weekend. 

The American release of "Ponniyin Selvan" is anticipated to break box office records in Tamil cinema's well-known overseas market and the movie's censor information is expected to get released soon. The high-profile periodic drama will be distributed by Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu while Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations will be distributing the movie in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. 

In Malayalam, the distributing rights were sold to Gokulam Gopalan's Sree Gokulam Movies house and the overseas theatrical rights have gone to TentKotta. The banner that distributed RRR, Vikram, and Sita Ramam in the northern regions of India will distribute PS-1 in Hindi under the name Pen India Limited. Ponniyin Selvan is bankrolled by Subaskaran's Lyca Productions and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, 'Ponniyin Selvan' has been planned to be released in two parts, and the first part is gearing up to release, while the second part is expected to arrive in Summer 2023. The history of Cholas needed a whopping 500 crores budget to make it to the screens. Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, and Prakash Raj among others are ready to grandly welcome us to the land of the Cholas in just two weeks with the background score from A R Rahman.
