Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan, who donned an avatar as a host by presenting the new reality show 'Bigg Boss' Tamil edition, has come to a point where he decided to shelve that avatar by quitting from presenting the show that was once very popular among the Tamil people and now is in the soup over declining viewership.
Kamal Haasan has been hosting Bigg Boss Tamil for six seasons and now, the sixth edition of the show is on the stage and heading towards final. Besides hosting Bigg Boss seasons, Kamal Haasan used the avatar as a prospect to have a renewed connection with the Tamil audience as he plunged into politics. Kamal Haasan's direct remarks about politics and his presence have given a good spotlight to the show despite controversies.
As it is a first-of-its-kind show for Tamil people, Kamal Haasan played a key role in taking the show to the masses and when years passed by, the people had apparently lost the intensity to watch the show and it also got slammed for its contentious fashion and of course, most in the masses were against the show. Several reports said that all these reasons have combinedly affected the reach of the current season.
Bigg Boss Tamil season 6 is said to have been recording a low TRP, which not only disappointed the makers but also disappointed Kamal Haasan. This decline perhaps had pushed Kamal Haasan to rethink to present the upcoming editions. Sources say that he has decided to quit hosting the show though he was offered a great pay cheque. It has been reported that Kamal Haasan will announce his decision to quit Bigg Boss Tamil during the grand finale of the current season.
The grand finale has been scheduled to be held in January 2023 after which he would step down with a mark as a successful host. Kamal Haasan was more active and more close to the people and his decision to quit the show has disheartened his fans. Besides the fact that the show is not doing well in the TRP charts, Kamal Haasan's lack of interest would add weight for his decision to quit the show.
His upcoming committment to act in mega projects would also be one of the reasons why he decided to relinquish his host avatar. After a blockbuster hit of his last movie 'Vikram', Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for his upcoming movie 'Indian 2', helmed by Shankar. After this project, he will join hands H Vinoth for a new project after which he will work with Mani Ratnam for the first time in 36 years for a mega project.
