In what has become the talk of the Kollywood town, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the two Kollywood powerhouses, will make their second comebacks in their superhit avatars as Baba and Aalavandhan respectively.
According to reports, these two iconic movies will be getting re-released by using digital 3D technology. It has been reported that these two movies will be edited, polished digitally, and reprinted. A press release claims that the movie has undergone a fresh edit to appeal to young folks better. According to the release, the Baba movie starring Rajinikanth is now gearing up for a new screening again, with a new look, that has been re-edited from a completely new angle.
The reports in the know say that every frame in Baba is digitally enhanced with color grading as per this modern technology. The scintillating songs of the movie were composed by A R Rahman. Baba was bankrolled by Rajinikanth under his banner Lotus International and directed by Suresh Krissna. Despite being a commercial failure, Baba eventually gained popularity among Rajinikanth's adherents.
The protagonist of the movie is Baba (Rajinikanth), a carefree young atheist who is the reincarnation of a famous saint from the Himalayas. Baba is brought to Mahavatar Babaji, who puts Baba to the test by giving him seven chances to fulfill his wishes while also challenging him to overcome several worldly illusions. The rest of the story revolves around how he uses his wishes while clashing with the bad guys at the same time.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the movie "Aalavandhan" starred by Kamal Haasan will also have a 3D version, and be released again after twenty-one years. Aalavandhan, a 2001 release, was well-received by critics and did well at the box office. A 3D version of the movie with magical realism elements is what the makers of "Aalavandhan" intended to release after digitalizing the movie.
Aalavandhan is also directed by Suresh Krissna and the movie's plot is based on the actor's 1984 novel 'Dhayam'. In this flick, Kamal Haasan played dual roles and excelled in story, screenplay, dialogue, and acting. It centers on brothers Nandu and Vijay, who were maltreated by their stepmother when they were younger. Mentally ill Nandhu decides to murder Vijay's fiancée because he sees her as his stepmother. It is pertinent to note that prominent producer Kalaipuli S Thanu stated in April 2021 that he would publish a revised edition of Aalavandhan.
