Kollywood is struck by the Pan Indian masala hits for a few months. The stories were revolving around courtroom dramas, cults, thrillers, cop-action flicks, and biopics. When the movie buffs are in heavy need to sit back and take a quick breather, Dhanush-starred romantic-comedy Thiruchitrambalam came out as immediate relief and quickly filled up the box office.
Fans are celebrating the success on social media, and the team is planning to have a success meet soon. The movie, which was released on August 18, has exceeded Rs 50 crore at the Tamil Nadu Box office within a week and the movie continues to do well during the workweek. If the trend remains, it appears that the movie will soon gross Rs 100 crore.
Thiruchitrambalam is an intense comedy-drama written and directed by Mithran R Jawahar, starring Dhanush and Nithya Menen in the lead. While Dhanush plays a food delivery boy, Nithya Menen, a self-sufficient woman and Dhanush's best friend, is central to the story. Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj, Raashi Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar appeared have appeared in crucial roles.
The music for the movie was composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Om Prakash handled the film's cinematography, and Prasanna GK handled the editing. Mithran R Jawahar, who earlier directed Dhanush in Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008), Kutty and Uthamaputhiran (2010), has joined hands with Dhanush for the fourth time through Thiruchitrambalam, which is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures.
