The much-awaited film ‘Vettaiyan’, starring Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles, has resumed shooting in Tirunelveli. The film, which was earlier referred to as ‘Thalaivar 170’, is directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Sun Pictures. The film’s official title and first-look poster were unveiled a few weeks ago, creating a huge buzz among the fans.

Now, a new picture from the sets of ‘Vettaiyan’ has taken the internet by storm, as it shows Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil sharing the screen space for the first time. The picture, which shows the two actors standing in front of a black wall with a quote by Mother Teresa written on it.

Rajinikanth is seen wearing a black shirt and sporting a fierce expression, while Fahadh Faasil is seen in a floral black shirt and looking calm and composed. The picture has sparked curiosity among the fans, who are eager to know more about the scene and the characters played by the two stars.

According to some sources, Rajinikanth plays a a retired army officer  who fights against the corrupt system, while Fahadh Faasil plays a politician who is his nemesis. The scene in the picture is said to be a crucial confrontation between the two, where Rajinikanth challenges Fahadh Faasil to face his wrath.

Bankrolled by prominent producer Subaskaran under his banner Lyca Productions, Thalaivar 170 stars Rajinikanth in a lead role while Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and popular stars including Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan are playing key roles in the project. The film's music is composed by Anirudh, and cinematography and editing have been done by SR Kathir and Philomin Raj respectively. The film is slated to release in mid-2024.
