Malavika Mohanan, the stunning actress who has won hearts with her performances in films like Master and Beyond the Clouds, has revealed her first look from the upcoming magnum opus Thangalaan. The film, directed by Pa Ranjith, stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role as a tribal leader who fights against the British oppression in the Kolar Gold Fields of Karnataka.
Malavika plays Aarathi, a fierce and powerful woman who supports Vikram’s character in his quest for freedom and justice. The poster, which was released by the makers of Thangalaan on the occasion of Malavika’s 30th birthday, shows her in a never-seen-before avatar.
She is seen wearing tribal clothes and head dress, holding a weapon in her hand and look throws a determined expression. The poster also has the tagline “A powerful and modern force redefining herself” which aptly describes Malavika’s character and her role in the film.

Thangalaan is one of the most awaited films of the year as it marks the collaboration of Vikram and Pa Ranjith, two of the most talented and versatile artists in Tamil cinema. The film also features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone and Hari Krishnan in important roles.
The music of the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar who has promised a grand musical treat for the fans. The film is produced by Neelam Productions and Studio Green and is expected to release on Pongal 2024 after debuting in international film festivals.
