In a recent social media post, actor Vikram sent ripples of excitement through the film fraternity. The celebrated star, known for his versatile roles, shared a captivating glimpse of himself in a urban cool avatar. But this wasn’t just any ordinary snapshot; it was a tantalizing hint at the much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster hit, “Mahaan.”

Mahaan, directed by the brilliant Karthik Subbaraj, marked its second anniversary on February 10, 2024. The film, which took a unique route by releasing directly on OTT platforms, garnered immense acclaim. Fans marvelled at the father-son duo of Vikram and Dhruv Vikram sharing screen space for the first time.

Vikram took to X, dropped a cryptic bombshell post that set the internet abuzz, which simply read,  “Mahaan2!!?” The enigmatic caption accompanied a striking image of the actor in a salt-and-pepper avatar, sporting sunglasses and a cigarette. The comment section erupted with fervent expectations and well-wishes from fans worldwide.

“Mahaan” weaves a gripping narrative around Gandhi Mahaan, a once-respected commerce teacher abandoned by his family. As fate twists, he witnesses his son, Dadabhai Naoroiji, transform into a liquor baron, forsaking Gandhian ideals.

The generational clash sets the stage for a riveting saga of revenge, love, and redemption. The film's music was done by  Santhosh Narayanan, where cinematography was handled by Shreyaas Krishna paired with editing by Vivek Harsha.
