The Superstar has returned to Chennai, and all eyes are on his next venture, ‘Thalaivar 170’. The film, which is directed by TJ Gnanavel, is all set to go on floors soon. The film is produced by Lyca Productions, who has earlier collaborated with Rajinikanth for ‘2.0’. The film is slated to release in 2024.

As per reports, the film will launch from the third week of September, and the muhurat puja of the film will be held next week. The film is expected to be a cop drama with a lot of action and thrill. The fans of Rajinikanth are eagerly waiting for the film, which will mark his 170th film in his illustrious career.

The film has an ensemble cast of stars from different industries. The latest addition to the cast is Sharwanand, who will be playing a key role in the film. He has replaced Nani, who was initially approached for the role. The film also features Fahadh Faasil as the main antagonist, who will lock horns with Rajinikanth in a clash of titans. 

The film also has a surprise element in the form of Amitabh Bachchan, who is reportedly playing a negative role in the film. This will be the first time that Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan will share screen space after 32 years. They were last seen together in the 1991 film ‘Hum’.

The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has delivered chartbusters for Rajinikanth’s previous films like ‘Jailer’ and ‘Petta’.The film will be shot in a grand set that has been erected at a film city in Chennai. The film will showcase Rajinikanth’s charisma and style in a new avatar, and it will also have a strong message for society.
