Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for his 21st film, tentatively titled SK 21, with director Rajkumar Periyasamy. The film is said to be an action thriller that will showcase Sivakarthikeyan in a different avatar.  Sivakarthikeyan, who witnessed the box office success of his latest release Don, a coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by debutant Cibi Chakravarthy last year.

The latest report is that the actor is reportedly planning to collaborate with the same director for his next project. According to sources, the actor was impressed by Cibi’s work and has given his nod to work with him again. Don, which hit the screens on May 13, 2022, received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, who praised the balance of humour, emotional weight, climax and social message.

The film grossed over ₹ 100 crores at the worldwide box office and became a critical and commercial success. The film revolves around Chakravarthy (Sivakarthikeyan), a reluctant engineering student who repeatedly clashes with his college’s discipline mentor Bhoominathan (S. J. Suryah), while still trying to discover his passion in life and prove his eligibility to his father Ganesan (Samuthirakani).

The film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as Angu, Chakravarthy’s love interest, Soori as his friend and Sivaangi Krishnakumar as Lilly, a first-year student who befriends Angu. The film was produced by Lyca Productions and Sivakarthikeyan Productions and had music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Cibi Chakravarthy, who made his directorial debut with Don, is a former associate of director Atlee. He has also worked as a writer for films like Mersal and Bigil.  It is not clear yet what genre or story Cibi Chakravarthy has in mind for his next film with Sivakarthikeyan, but fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement from the duo.
