Viral Buzz: The First Single of Ponniyin Selvan 2 to be released on this date!

Kollywood insiders have the latest word on Manirathnam's magnum opus, and it's sure to please fans of the Ponniyin Selvan as it will be the Isai Puyal special. Based on Kalki's eponymous Tamil novel that was serialized in the 1950s, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan released on 30th September 2022 which received a spectacular reception.

Under the clouds of such speculations that the film's first single to be released on February 14th on the occasion of Valentines day since the track is an thematic to Arulmozhi Varman and Vaanathi's love tale. Interestingly the song is in the voice of A R Rahman. An official confirmation is expected to be out soon from the makers' side.

The story is set in the tumultuous period before Arunmozhi Varman, later known as Raja Raja Chozhan became one of the greatest emperors in Indian history ushering in a Golden Age. The first part covered less portions of Arulmozhi Varman and Vaanathi. However the sequel will have the scenes more of this couple. Jayam Ravi played the Arulmozhi Varman and Sobhitha Dulipala played the Vaanathi.

It's worth noting that the first part ended on a hanger, with just fleeting views of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Oomai Rani (her second character in the film) and the intriguing closing sequences of post combat starring Karthi and Jayam Ravi being revealed on the PS 2. The first film in the series grossed over Rs 500 crores around the world.

Notorious PS-2's stellar cast includes Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Shobita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Ashwin, and a plethora of others. Composed by A.R.Rahman the film has been shot by cinematographer Ravi Varman and edited by Sreekar Prasad, and was produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
