The audio launch of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer was a star-studded affair that witnessed the presence of the superstar himself, along with the director Nelson Dilipkumar, the music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and the co-stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Yogi Babu.

The event, which took place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on July 28, 2023, was attended by thousands of fans who gave a thunderous welcome to their Thalaivar. Rajinikanth, who looked dashing in an all-blue outfit, hugged Nelson Dhilipkumar and took the blessings of his elder brother before taking the stage. He also interacted with the other members of the Jailer team and praised their work.

Nelson Dhilipkumar, who was visibly emotional and excited, said that Jailer is his fourth film but his first audio launch. He mentioned that he was grateful to Rajinikanth for giving him the opportunity to direct him in Jailer. He said that he was not sure if Rajinikanth was being sarcastic or sincere when he complimented him.

While starting Jailer, I was in a negative zone. I was even thinking they will change me. I told this to Thalaivar that we can do the film only he could trust me". He also added, "Vijay was the first person who gave me hope. He told me to go and meet Rajini sir and he must do the film." He added wittily  that he had a tough time managing the controlled and experienced actors like Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal on one side, and VTV Ganesh on the other side. He also revealed that Rajinikanth helped him in many ways during the making of the film.

Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Yogi Babu also spoke at the event and expressed their admiration for Rajinikanth and their excitement for Jailer. They said that they had a great time working with him and the rest of the cast and crew. They also wished the film a grand success at the box office.

Jailer is an action thriller that revolves around Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a powerful jailer who has to deal with some dangerous criminals and conspiracies. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures and is slated to release on August 10, 2023. The film has received a U/A certificate from the censor board and has a runtime of two hours and forty-eight minutes.
