As Tamil cinema fans have finally gotten the sight that much-awaiting Indian 2 has been in the process of resuming the shooting, there has been an interesting buzz doing rounds in Kollywood that a popular actor has been roped into the world of Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan. The sequel to the 1996 movie is helmed by reputed director Shankar and the makers are busy to have a hiatus-free resumption.

It has been reported that veteran actor Navarasa Nayagan Karthik, who was a popular thespian during the 80s, has been roped to play a significant role in Indian 2. According to the sources, the shooting of Indian 2 will resume on September 13 and actor Kamal Haasan has been in the United States with the view of the iconic project. 

In the move to replace actors Vivek and Nedumudi Venu after their demise, the makers are in the process of picking up alternate artists. In that process, the movie team has now picked Karthik as the replacement for one of the demised actors. The reports say that the official announcement concerning Karthik's induction would be released soon.  

Karthik was last seen in Mr Chandramouli, starred by his son Gautham Karthik and played a cameo appearance in 'Dev' starred by Karthi Sivakumar in 2019. If reports are true about his induction in Indian 2, Karthik will be joining the shooting on September 13 while marking his 62nd birthday. Recently, popular actress Kajal Aggarwal confirmed that she will join the shooting during the second week of September.

Earlier, after Kajal Aggarwal gave birth to a baby boy, it was said that she has decided to drop the Indian 2 project. However, in a recent interview, she dispelled the rumours and affirmed that she is part of the movie. Besides Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, Indian 2 will have Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Guru Soma Sundaram, Delhi Ganesh, and Samuthirakani will play important roles. 

Anirudh has composed the music and Indian 2 is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions along with actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin under his production banner Red Giant Pictures. After finishing his current Telugu debut film, "RC 15," starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, director Shankar will revive this long-stalled project. The preparation for set works for the Indian 2 shooting is underway in Chennai.
