Veteran Bollywood actor and one of the reputed stars in the movie industry Rishi Kapoor has passed away at the age of 67 on the morning hours of Thursday, exactly a day after Bollywood fame Irrfan Khan has died, leaving the industry to mourn for the back to back losses amid the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
The legendary actor has been battling against cancer for the past two years. After getting diagnosed for cancer in 2018, Kapoor had received treatment in New York for more than a year and he returned to India in September 2019 and he remained under continuous treatment. In early February, the actor was hospitalized in New Delhi letting the speculations rise over his health conditions.

Rishi Kapoor's elder brother Randhir Kapoor has confirmed that the veteran actor was not feeling well and was hospitalized under emergency in Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai on the morning hours of Wednesday. However, despite the treatment, he breathed his last on Thursday morning at the age of 67.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has issued the conformity on Kapoor's demise. Bachchan took to Twitter and stated that " He's gone. Rishi Kapoor has gone...just passed away...I am destroyed". According to the reports, Kapoor, who had been active on Twitter, gone silent after April 2nd. Rishi Kapoor was active since 1970 and kept his footprints on all the spheres of the industry as an actor, producer, and director.

The deceased actor had bagged scores of awards including the 'Screen Lifetime Achievement Award' in 2016, Filmfare critics award in 2011, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award in 2008. In 2009, he was honored by the Russian Government for his contribution to cinema.
The veteran actor recently announced his next project "The Intern" which also features Deepika Padukone in a lead role. Rishi Kapoor leaves behind his wife Neetu Singh and two children Riddhima Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, who is also one of the active and much followed Bollywood stars.

Condolences have been pouring in from across the country. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, and Cricketer Harbhajan Singh were some among many who had paid their last respect to the deceased actor, who acted at least 121 movies and some of the notable films are Amar Akbar Anthony, Bobby, Laila Majnu, Sargam, Rafoo Chakkar, Karz, and Bol Radha Bol.
