US Elections: As Biden leads the race, Trump unveils his new battle to avoid debacle!

In what has become an overnight flip, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has been getting close to the hit the magical number of 270 after he bagged the crucial battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin into his column, which further irked incumbent Donald Trump who had unveiled his legal strike to stop the counting and to recount the ballots after he realized that he's nearing to exit the White House.

As Joe Biden and his VP mate Kamala Harris are nearing a decent, if not a landslide, victory to win the presidency, the incumbent had moved ahead with his plan to unleash a legal battle. Trump hopes to mitigate the narrowing path that's getting against him and he had filed lawsuits and demanded a recount of votes, in the albeit of knowing the country still has millions of uncounted votes, which has been directing unprecedented delay in declaring the final results.

Michigan and Wisconsin were among the game-changing states and these two states were strongly expected by the candidates to fish into their boat on their race to win 270 electoral votes and when these two states were at stake on Wednesday, it later turned blue after the counting of mail-in ballots, most of them had gone to Biden. The victory from these two states had strengthened Biden and boosted him to run fast towards the destination.

These two states were won by Trump in the 2016 Presidential elections and the flip had shocked the incumbent, who has been trailing in the race and would likely be pushed to concede the defeat. According to the Associated Press, by the time of writing this content, Joe Biden is short of six electoral votes and while he had secured 264, Trump has got 214 electoral votes, largely from the Republican safe states.

Dubbed as the important election in the lifetime of every American voter, it has been closely watched by the world and with the overwhelming turnout of early mail-in ballots, it may take days or could possibly take even weeks to declare the final results. As Biden has taken the lead in the battleground states, Trump has unveiled his legal strike to apply brakes, and seemingly, some maneuvers against the former Vice President.

According to Reuters, Trump's campaign has been fighting to keep the chances of victory for incumbent's alive, and his campaign had filed lawsuits in Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to stop further vote counting and his campaign has also demanded a recount in Wisconsin. The campaign has asked the US Supreme Court to permit Trump to join a pending lawsuit filed by Pennsylvania Republicans over whether the battleground state should be permitted to accept the late-arriving ballots sent by Election Day on Tuesday.

The motion of filing a lawsuit to stop the voting and to recount the voting has become the effect of his fear of losing these battleground states. On the other side, after realizing that Arizona is also getting out of his hands, Trump lashed out at the news agencies that projected Biden would win Arizona and the incumbent said that he thought he should be winning the state. The reports say that Trump is rolling out the legal battle to somehow try to avoid debacles and becoming the first incumbent US President to lose a re-election bid since George H.W. Bush in 1992.

According to the figures from Edison Research, Biden has won Michigan by 67,000 votes or 1.2% and in Wisconsin, Biden was ahead by just over 20,000 votes or 0.6%. The polls had projected Biden has won Wisconsin, however, Trump, who was shocked to see him trailing in the battleground state, had filed a lawsuit demanding a recount. Wisconsin law allows a candidate to request a recount if the margin is below 1% and through this legal provision, Trump had moved his lawsuit to have a recount in a bid to reduce his narrowing path.

The Presidential votes were closed on November 3, however, due to the surge of nationwide mail-in ballots amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the states are taking more days than expected and some of the battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina have still been counting the ballots, leaving the supporters of both the parties getting angry and frustrated over the uncertain outcome. Eric Trump, the younger son of Donald Trump, while addressing in Philadelphia, said, "We are going to win Pennsylvania, but they are trying to cheat us out it because they know it is their only path to victory".

As Trump has moved lawsuits, which had come a day after he accused of voter fraud in the election, Joe Biden's campaign has been preparing to counter Trump's legal strike, and both the campaigns have been reaching out to their respective support bases to raise funds for the legal battle. Biden leads the race with 264 electoral votes including Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona. On the other hand, states like Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina have become crucial players in deciding the winner and while Biden leads Nevada, Trump is ahead in the rest of the three states.
