Recently, Tamil Nadu has witnessed the case of Dr. Simon Hercules, who died of COVID-19, on how he got an awful last journey to the burial grounds.

In line with that, Puducherry has now caught up with the controversy and outrage over the burial of the COVID-19 victim as the video that circulated on the social media had shown how the government workers threw the corpse of the victim into the grave. The video that lasts for less than 30 seconds shows four men with the personal protective gear hop out of the ambulance and dumped the body into the pit hurriedly.

After dumping the body, one of the workers was heard informing the official that they had thrown the body for which the official gives thumbs up. In the video, the workers were seen that they had taken a break from the COVID-19 protocols on handling the body of the deceased.

According to the protocols, the body of the victim must be wrapped up in a bag before the disposal. However, the workers carried the body that was covered with a white cloth.

The video went viral that has let the local administration launch an investigation into the matter as the hurried disposal had criticized as an undignified burial. According to the reports, the deceased belong to Chennai and he visited Puducherry, where he was tested positive for COVID-19 and later succumbed to the infection on June 5.
