The stage is set and time is locked for Udhayanidhi Stalin's ministerial venture as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son and DMK's Youth wing secretary is all set for a political elevation. Udhayanidhi Stalin is currently serving as a DMK MLA from Chepauk-Triplicane constituency in Chennai and one-and-a-half-year after entering the assembly for the first time, he is going to hit the jackpot by becoming a cabinet minister for the first time.
Udhayanidhi Stalin will be swearing-in as a minister on December 14 and the oath will be administered by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. On Monday- December 12, the Governor's office Raj Bhavan has confirmed that MK Stalin's recommendation to induct Udhayanidhi in the cabinet has been accepted by the Governor and the oath taking ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan.
In an official press release issued on Monday, the Raj Bhavan has said, "The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has recommended to the Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu to induct Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Triplicane Assembly Constituency (No 19), in the Council of Ministers. The Hon'ble Governor has approved the recommendation. The Swearing-in-Ceremony will be held on 14th December 2022 at 9.30 AM at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai -22."
The Chief Minister is expected to make some changes in his cabinet and on the front of what portfolio would be awarded to Udhayanidhi, our sources say that he will become the Minister of Special Programme Implementation along with handling Youth Welfare and Sports Development. As the arrangements for the ceremony are underway at the Raj Bhavan, the Tamil Nadu government has been sending invitations to several political leaders to attend the ceremony.
In line with that, an invitation has been sent to ADMK's Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS), who has been a strong critic against the Stalin administration and against Udhayanidhi's ministerial elevation. Palaniswami has been slamming the DMK for its heir politics and recently, while addressing the party's event in Salem, Palaniswami condemned the DMK government for increasing the prices of electricity, property tax, and milk. The ADMK leader alleged that the government is full of corruption and after becoming a minister, Udhayanidhi will lead such corruptions.
Palaniswami further questioned what's going to change even Udhayanidhi becomes a minister. As the ADMK leader has received an invite to participate in Udhayanidhi's swearing-in ceremony, he is likely to take part as the Leader of Opposition in the assembly. On the other hand, the government has readied a new room for Udhayanidhi in the Chief Secretariat after becoming a minister.
