While DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin has been on the spotlight for a long time about his ministerial venture, he has now made a splash towards serving in his father and Chief Minister MK Stalin's cabinet, thanks to the comments delivered by a DMK MP who said that Udhayanidhi Stalin will become Deputy Chief Minister soon. Though his comments were cheered by the party cadres, they gave a talking point to the opposition parties that are already slamming the DMK for its heir politics.
Udhayanidhi Stalin recently celebrated his birthday and along with celebrating his reelection as the DMK's Youth-wing secretary, the party cadres across the state organized several events on the occasion of his birthday. The DMK party has rolled out a slew of welfare programmes across the state to celebrate Udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday.
Such welfare programmes are still being conducted and they are being led by top DMK leaders. On the other hand, the fans who celebrate Udhayanidhi as an actor had also organized several events. These events have revived the talk about Udhayanidhi's induction as a Tamil Nadu Minister. While a handful of sources said that he would be made minister during the first quarter of next year, the comments from DMK MP Gautham Sigamani has turned heads.
On Saturday, an event to celebrate Udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday was organized in Villupuram and Gautham Sigamani, the DMK MP of Kallakurichi and son of senior DMK Minister Ponmudy, attended the event and rained a praise for Udhayanidhi. Sigamani said that the DMK youth-wing has got revived under the leadership of Udhayanidhi Stalin and his works are inspiring young people.
Gautham Sigamani further said, "Udhayanidhi Stalin will become Deputy Chief Minister soon and his works will benefit entire Tamil Nadu. The people of Tamil Nadu are behind him and he will drive the party to victory in upcoming elections. On behalf of the fans of Udhayanidhi Stalin, we are appealing to the Chief Minister (to appoint him as Deputy Chief Minister)."
Sigamani's remarks have been going viral and the MP has joined the league of DMK leaders KN Nehru, Ma Subramanian, and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi who had placed demands to appoint Udhayanidhi Stalin a minister. Recently, A senior DMK leader told IANS, "The birthday bash of Udhayanidhi was like the birthday celebrations of Kalaignar Karunanidhi and if that is an indication, it is clear that he will be joining the Stalin cabinet soon." Udhayanidhi Stalin is a DMK MLA of Chepauk-Tripilicane constituency in Chennai and it is pertinent to note that MK Stalin had served as a Deputy Chief Minister when his father Karunanidhi was Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister.
