Senior Tamil Nadu Minister KKSSR Ramachandran has sparked controversy through what has become an open statement of how the DMK is cementing the way for Udhayanidhi Stalin's political growth. While the speculations of Udhayanidhi becoming a cabinet minister were rife in recent times, Ramachandran has turned heads by claiming that the political heir is ready to become the Chief Minister after his father, MK Stalin.
The DMK leaders have been busy disseminating the success of MK Stalin's first-year rule. Several events were being organized by the party across the state. Speaking at one such event that was held at Srivilliputhur in his home district of Virudhunagar, Ramachandran, who is serving as the Tamil Nadu Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, said that Udhayanidhi Stalin is ready to become the Chief Minister.
Supporting his open statement, Ramachandran said that everyone has to work hard to grow in the party. He divulged that MK Stalin came after Annadurai and Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Udhayanidhi Stalin will come after MK Stalin. Amid a round of applause, Ramachandran said, "We can't call it an heir politics. Though they are political heirs, to grow in the party through hard work."
He further said that no throne is given to the heir immediately after joining the party. Ramachandran's remarks had come in line with several ministers' notion of backing Udhayanidhi. His remarks had drawn huge attention and spurred controversy when the DMK has been slammed by the opposition for its heir politics. Ramachandran's remarks had come at a high time when Udhayanidhi has been touted to be inducted as the minister.
The reports earlier this week had said that a lobby has been on in the party for making Udhayanidhi Stalin a Deputy Chief Minister. It has been reported that Udhayanidh Stalin will be inducted into the cabinet in June 2022. Earlier this month, our sources have said that the party has been making the arrangements for his elevation while the high command is in the discussion of a portfolio that will be awarded to the heir.
Udhayanidhi Stalin has currently been serving as the MLA from the iconic Chepauk-Triplicane constituency in Chennai besides holding the role as the DMK's Youth Wing Secretary. He is a first-time legislator and after a year of completing his tenure, the elevation is on the way for him in a hassle-free process. IANS has reported that chances are high at the junior Stalin will be inducted into the Tamil Nadu cabinet in June and the senior leaders are affirming that the actor-turned-politician will be a minister soon.
